Director's Statement:
Nice To Meet You will be a light-hearted, hilarious film likely to remind people of their young days. Though with strong comic elements, the film presents a sentimental ending.
I will adopt different approaches in cinematography, editing and production design to highlight the cultural clashes between the two groups of Chinese and Korean.
I have been living in Beijing for five years, as a major in film directing at Beijing Film Academy. This has enabled me to master the Chinese language and understand its culture, at the same time provide me with a unique perspective to deal with this cross culture film.
I hope Nice To Meet You will bring a better mutual understanding between Chinese and Korean peoples. Like a big family, I believe that love and friendship presented in the film can be shared by all of us without borders.
